East Hill Village • Ithaca, New York
Leyland has been selected – along with Greystar and Charter Realty – to redevelop East Hill Plaza, an aging shopping center located south of Cornell’s Ithaca, NY campus. Cornell’s goal is to transform East Hill Plaza into a vibrant, mixed-use, walkable neighborhood, that will serve as a southern gateway to campus and attract an eclectic mix of retail, office and residential uses, as well as new civic spaces for the enjoyment of the community.
The vision expressed for East Hill in Cornell's master plan is similar in scope to Storrs Center, the public private project LeylandAlliance completed in partnership with the University of Connecticut and the town of Mansfield, CT.
The development team for East Hill will include the collegiate housing division of Greystar and Charter Realty, who are retail specialists – both of these companies teamed with Leyland on our Storrs Center project. The vision for this project was established at a public planning charrette led by Urban Design Associates and Whitham Planning & Design.
