NICABM to Relocate to Storrs Center
The National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine (“NICABM”) is moving to Storrs Center. To be located at 40 Wilbur Cross Way, Suite 102, NICABM is an accredited provider of continuing education for health and mental health professionals.
The company reaches a global audience of thousands of practitioners, including physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and counselors, with the most innovative methods in clinical practice. NICABM's online programs are designed to advance the newest applications in brain science, the treatment of trauma, and mindfulness.
Founded in 1988 by Ruth Buczynski, PhD, a licensed psychologist, and the late Christine Huda, the company has been a leader in mind‐body medicine for over 25 years.
Dr. Buczynski began her career at the University of Connecticut, where she was the Director of the Center for Personal Growth, worked in the Counseling Center, and taught graduate classes in the Counseling Psychology program. She spent 17 years at UConn before leaving to create NICABM.
Dr. Buczynski and three full‐time staffers have worked with hundreds of paid interns from UConn over the past 25 years. They are eager to move into their new office at Storrs Center toward the end of this year. “Being able to work in a true downtown environment amid restaurants and other services is going to be fun and convenient,” says Buczynski. “I’m looking forward to it.”
